Roninbk (talk ยท contribs) I'm a fairly new editor, (first edit was last May, and started contributing in a major way last September.) I understand that i am a long ways off from Administrator nomination, but I would like an idea as to how I am doing. Other than contributing to places I already have extensive knowledge, (Sakura-Con, Perplex City, etc.) I have also patrolled AfD discussions and the Prod Patrol looking for pages I can help save from deletion. I have been very active within AfD discussions, (perhaps to a fault as my edit count would illustrate,) and as an Esperanza member, I have been active within the current reform debate.   • Since you invite comments here are some off the top of my head. I have not fully reviewed your contribution so forgive me if this is too superficial- Your signature is exceedingly annoying and takes up two lines of text so it disrupts the formatting of any talk page you post on. This is against the guideline. You failed to even acknowledge my comment on your talk page about this which appears (only slightly) uncivil and since you mention admin you would almost certainly be forced to change your sig to get through. Oh, you may wish to edit the odd article while you are at it - 126 edits - less than 20% of your contribution to the project has been made to articles (although this does increase to 25% once mainspace talk is factored in. I apologize for not addressing you personally. I have asked quite a few people about it, and I have had a few people say that it is passable. Believe me, it used to be worse before someone pointed out that policy to me. It's a work in progress, and I am waiting on the result of a few discussions before I change it again.
I also addressed my editcount in my opening statement, that most of my edits have been to AfDs and other Wikipedia space articles, including actively contributing the the Esperanza overhaul. I recognize this as a fault, but point out that most of the time I preview my edits before submitting them. Most of the pages I edit only have a couple of edits from me, including one of the ones I mention below as some of my best work. My most heavily edited Wikipedia namespace article has been in support of Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga --RoninBKETC 23:23, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
On my browser your sig takes up six lines if we include the date/time stamp. I find it very distracting and it is therefore disruptive. I really appreciate your willingness to do the editor review - I for one don't have the courage for that kind of self flagelation but I do find it disturbing you are waiting for other editors comments before doing anything about your sig rather then reviewing the appropriate guideline and complying with that. I would have thought that one editor commenting that it was disruptive would be enough for you to take action. With regard to your edit count how about joining a project or other and starting to help out with things like stub sorting and/or dabs? That's a good way to contibute in mainspace if you want to get your edit count up. Also, there are a good percentage of RFA voters who like to see contributions to featured articles from candidates.   1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
    My patrolling of AfD's has resulted in a few articles which I was able to save from deletion. Two of which I am especially proud of are Women Fully Clothed (AfD Debate) and Prostitution in the Czech Republic (AfD Debate)
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
    I haven't had too many issues in the course of my mainspace edits. Most of my issues with other people come from AfD debates, where too many editors will offer objections that are not grounded in Wikipedia policy. I've learned to accept Wikipedia:Notability as a de facto standard, but I've seen it applied in cases where there is enough verifiable information for Wikipedia to keep the article. (the Qubit Field Theory arguement, most famously made by Jimbo). Generally the Admins get it right, but I do admit that the heated arguements can be frustrating. Usually, I end up taking a walk and or do something else to calm down.
