Amaas120 (talk ยท contribs) Hi. I've been editing since about December '05. When I first came to Wikipedia, I wasn't very aware of all the guidelines here, and stuff, so I made some pages about my friends, and myself, but I stopped, started contributing worthwhile edits, most of them fair. I participate in a number of entertainment wikiprojects including WP: Novels, Films, Television. I also like to stub sort. I was wondering how I was doing.   • First of all, it is good you decided to keep your account, which as you said was used to contribute without knowing about the notability guidelines. That allows other editors to check your maturity. Second, I would suggest tagging Wikipedia:Editor review/USERNAME with {{db-owner}} ;-) Now, the comments:
    • You should begin using edit summaries. They are incredible helpful, even if they are simple, because it allows other editors to know what you did in an article without having to check the diff. In example, a summary for this could have been added biography infobox, or added infobox with name, date and place of birthday, occupation and spouse. That would allow other editors of the article to know what you have added. Sure, the first ten or twenty times they would check you have actually done what you just said, but after them, they will trust you, saving them the time to check for the diff.
    • When uploading images, remember to add information about the source from where you have picked it. In example, Image found at www.somewhere.com/page.html. Exact location at www.somewhere.com/image.jpg Although it has been discussed whether or not DVD, album and book covers implicitely state a source, you should add it anyways. If you have created it yourself from a copyrighted work, please indicate it (I have scanned it with my XXXX at yy dpi, resized to comply with Fair use guidelines, I took the screenshot from the second DVD of the third season, XXXX, episode 34, etc). I would suggest you to also implement a fair use rationale per every image you upload, but since I am still halfway of doing that for the images I have uploaded, I won't ;-)
    • I have noticed you have almost no minor edits. That is curious :-)
    • Your work at Wikipedia is pretty good. I consider myself a wikignome as well, and thus are pretty warm towards those who spend their time stub sorting, categorizing or wikifying articles.
    • The lack of conflicts is good. However, you don't appear to interact a lot with other people due the relatively low amount of article and user talk edits (10% of your total edits in this month). I would suggest you to pick an article about a topic you like, and expand it until it becomes a good article. It is a great experience, because it allows you to interact with other people towards a common individual goal, which may be a good experience. I noticed you have been approved at VandalProof. Reverting and warning vandalism is prone to get your user and talk pages attacked, being harassed, and sometimes stalked. Hopefully you will do fine (my fear is that your lack of iteration with other users may stress you a lot).   1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
    I'm proud of my stub sorting, I guess. It's not much work, but it helps in the long run, that way people who are interested in that specific subject can easily find articles to improve.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
    Well, there is none really. There has been a few minor conflicts, but they've been worked out. I misunderstood something, but the editor explained. No user has given me any stress. In the future, I'll deal with conflicts calmly and as rational as possible.
