  • Well, some UK English would be good (fall => autumn). I know your name, but nothing more about you. I like you balance of edits; but be sure to keep up the good work! Computerjoe's talk 19:08, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
  • You seem to be improving steadily but still have some way to go. Would like to see many more contributions in the main space before you go for another RfA. Please remember that edits like this can come back to haunt you. Tintin (talk) 05:11, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
    • Yes, well... that was before I exactly understood what wikipedia was. In fact, I had only made this account just to beg that it wouldn't be deleted.--Ac1983fan (talkcontribs) 18:35, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Well, I'm usally reverting vandalism, so this kindof Q is a little hard for me to answer. I guess that, although I am pleased with every contributation I make, I would have to say I am particularly pleased with my contribs to Wii, Wii Sports, Sonic Riders, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Virtual Console (Wii)
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Actually, I have had a few conflicts (usally on AFD's), but they are pretty minor. As for other users causing me stress, that has never happened. I intend to disscuss disputes maturly.

  • Hello, Ac(hope you don't mind me calling you that for short). I am Jcam and I hope to give you an editor review that is helpful. Oe thing you don't mention is why you want an editor review which is important. Is it because you want to be the best editor you can be, or because you wish to run for an Rfa someday, maybe soon. So I'll proceed in somewhat of a middle course, assuming a little bit of both. Anyway, here are some of my thoughts:
    • You have over 2500 edits which is a good amount, but it seems you've tapered off some in the past few months. I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Wikipedia isn't (and shouldn't be ) your whole life. One thing you should strive for, though, is consistency. In June of this year, you had over 700 edits and two months later, you had a mere 12 edits. Better to have a good consistent number every month. It's easy to contribute 200-300 edits a month without wikipedia consuming all your free time. My thought is that maybe June's "binge" caused burnout and you quickly got sick of it.
    • You have good balance in the various namespaces. Using VoA's tool I see that around 35% are to articles, 13% to WP space, 14% to User talk, and 3% to Portal space. I am a big fan of Portals and it's good to see you seem to be as well. You also participate in Rfa and Afd which are good ways to contribute to the project in addition to writing articles.
    • Another kind of balance might be "subject balance"- work on other areas other than video games. I find that if I concentrate too much in one area(whether it be politics, climate, geography- some of my areas of expertise) I get burned out. Just forget about editing Wikipedia for a whole day, and concentrate on browsing pages- maybe randomly or following links that interest you. Sure, you may find yourself editing some of the pages which need copyediting, wikifying, etc. but your main goal that day is to simply look through the eyes of someone who's never been to wikipedia. You may find that there are areas of need outside of video games which interest you.
    • You are a good vandal fighter and I commend you for that. One thing I decided to "come out of the closet" about a month ago was that a few years ago, I was a wiki-vandal, so I try to "make amends" by fighting vandals a lot. One thing I encourage users to do is to fight vandals with vigilence, but be low key about it. Vandals like extra attention, they like "vandal fighting squads" etc. The bigger fuss is made of vandalism, the more reason there is (in the vandal mind) to vandalize.

So overall, I see you making great cotributions from you and I hope to see you around. Jcam 20:26, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I'd say I'm most pleased with my contribs to the article Mudkip. about 50-60% of it was written or sourced by me. I've also done some work with the The nintendo wikiproject
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Well, I am currently in a conflict with and editor on the talk page for mudkip, about a meme that I don't think should be in the article. I have stress, but I always think about what to write before I write it.
