The arboretum was originally named after the wife of the prof who toiled for 20 years to create it. The professor then retired, and (then-President, or he might have been Chancellor by that time) Carrier renamed it after his wife, who had never even seen the place. Not sure how to add that to the article in an encyclopaedic tone, though, especially since I cannot avoid the fact that I'm blatantly POV on this. Jouster  (whisper) 17:57, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
