From when I watched Grey Gardens, I remember noticing (apart from her constant use of scarves) that on one early morning segment, she looked odd in the face, I then noticed she had no eyebrows (and I think possibly no eyelashes). Was it ever disclosed that she may have suffered from Alopecia? I also recall that she claimed she had never married because her mother scared all her suitors away from the house. [edit] contract

The last lines in the fifth paragraph read "The benefit of this participation was the promise of film profits, so the women strove to "make good". Profits were not forthcoming."

Why was that? Did the movie make no money? Or were they simply not remunerated?

  • that's a very good question. did they sign a contract? what were the specific numbers? what is the dirctor's response to this question? This should be in both the Little Edie and the Grey gardens entries.--cda 15:15, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

This article has a heavily sympathetic slant, e.g. "one of the finest gardens on the East Coast", "freed after her mother's death", etc., and should be re-written from a factual perspective. Boondigs 13:20, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Grey Gardens

I tuned into this documentary today. What a show! I can't imagine their family let these two women live like this. I see by reading the obit page that the family did help them clean up once but did they ever check on them again? I also saw that the obit page mentioned the two sons/brothers died. I was wondering what happened to them? They must have died young but I see there was a Jr. born. Does anyone know about them? Dilynn 00:09, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
