Eddie Rockets is an Irish owned fast food franchise with stores across Ireland as well as in Gran Canaria and Liverpool.
The restaurants are themed as 1950s diners, and do not operate in the same manner as a typical fast-food chain; real crockery and cutlery are used, drinks are served in glassware, orders are taken by a waiter at a customer's seat, freshly cooked and then brought to the customer.
Many of their restaurants sell beer (usually Route 66 Beer) and open late at night, which had lead to their Dublin city centre locations becoming part of the drinking culture for some in the city.
[edit] History
The first restaurant opened on South Anne Street in Dublin. Since then, they have opened in many other locations, such as Blanchardstown, Bridgewater shopping centre Limerick(x3), Cork, Tallaght, Terenure, Phibsboro, Nutgrove Shopping Centre, Stillorgan Shopping Centre, Donnybrook, Rathmines, Baggot Street, Swords, Galway, Waterford, Dundrum Town Centre, Blackrock, Parnell Street], Omni Shopping Centre and, more recently, Drogheda. They are also in the Liffey Valley shopping centre in Lucan, County Dublin. There is also a new branch open in Navan, Co. Meath.
They are very similar to Johnny Rockets, in style and food, though are not connected with them.
