[edit] Summary

English: Edwin Henry Killian ( November 12, 1876July 18, 1928) was an Major League Baseball pitcher primarily of the Detroit Tigers. Born in Racine, Ed Killian started his career with the Cleveland Naps in the 1903 season before being traded to the Tigers. In the 1905 season, he led the American League in shutouts with eight. Killian helped the team reach the World Series three times, the first time winning both games of a double-header to clench the Tiger's first post-season berth. Having pitched in the Dead-Ball Era, his nine home runs allowed are the fewest in Major League Baseball history. He had pitched 1001 innings, spanning nearly four seasons, between allowing a home run. Ed Killian had an overall record of 105 wins, 78 losses and a 2.38 ERA.
