J. Edward "Ed" Putnam (born 1941) was an American Episcopal priest and a teacher. He was ordained as a priest in 1970 and served for 35 years. In 2006, Putnam ran unsuccessfully as a Democrat for the New York State Assembly.
In 2007, Putnam admitted to sexually abusing four adolescent boys while serving as a priest at St. James' Episcopal Church in Skaneateles between January 1986 and May 1993. After a months-long investigation, the diocese suspended Putnam from priesthood for 20 years with a possible extension.
