Ed Herman fought Joe Doerksen at UFC 78 in November, 2007, winning by knockout 39 seconds into the third round after narrowly escaping submission by triangle choke in the final seconds of the second round. [1]
Herman's next bout was at UFC 83: Serra vs St-Pierre 2 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on April 19th of 2008. It was a preliminary fight against Demian Maia. Herman was defeated by Triangle Choke at 2:27 of the second round. Maia had gained the mount position with a Triangle Choke still in place, as he unloaded several punches to the face of Herman.
