Talk:Economy of the People's Republic of China/Comments
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I don't understand the paragraph that claims it is "impossible" for China to reach per capita GDP levels of the US or Japan. It is just put forward as a fact, but it is not clear why this is. Is the author speaking in terms of ecological footprint, or do they mean that that result would take a long time, or what? I am sympathetic to the ecological footprint argument, but it needs to be clarified and readers should be pointed to ecological footprint pages so that they understand what is being said here. Otherwise, I don't see why it would be impossible--just grow like the bejeezus until it happens.
