14,000,000 tons of coffee in 2000 compared to 45,000 tons in 1990 before the geoncide? Methinks this is not correct...maybe the author meant 14,000,000 pounds?

Kenya is the world's second biggest exporter of Tea, and in 7 months it exported slightly under 200million kg, 14million tons is alot. Perhaps it was 14 million Kg?
