Talk:Economy of Asia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I copied the template from the Economy of Europe. Sorry if it looks weird, I'm no good with HTML and stuff. At least, it's a start :). KNewman 18:09, Nov 28, 2004 (UTC)
How can India and South Korea both be the fourth largest economy in the world? The article says that and leads to confusion. Somebody should clear that up.
Spent most of today adding to this page, starting to look really good (if I do say so myself!). It'll be up there with Europe and Africa in no time! Grunners 19:19, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Pre-1945
I've written some material for the period prior to the second world war. Hope somebody can proofread that. __earth 03:49, Dec 2, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] GDP
For GDP numbers, these countries are in the IMF database, [1], [2], they add up to $18.077 and $8.782 trillion for 2003. What was the average population during 2003? I'll use the 4,000,750,000 number for now (for the GDP/capita number). - Jerryseinfeld 00:04, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC)
"In the Straits of Malacca, Malacca established itself as an important port in Asia".
IMHO, think it is rather incorrect to phrase it this way. There were a few well-known ports such as Malacca, Penang and Singapore at different time frames. I am sorry that I do not have the details with me. oK
[edit] Hey
I'd like to let you know i'll be trying to give a hand at expanding this article over the coming weeks. I've begun to develop the economic sectors section, adding a few images and i've updated all the currencies. Im fresh off developing and gaining featured status for Celtic Tiger, and Economy of the Republic of Ireland. I hope we can entice more to help, this is the sort of article that needs people from a wide catchement of society. CGorman 21:33, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I posted this page at Pages needing attention. Hope we will get some more hands. __earth 00:38, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)
Why does the talk page have tags? Tags go on the main article page; talk pages are where we discuss what's needed to fix the problems described in the tags. I'm going to remove the tags from the talk page and place them on the main article. 24.9.10.235 03:59, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
I removed the neutrality banner, which didn't seem necessary. If there are still issues, hopefully we can work on them. Plinkit 18:04, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

This article is very negative, Asia will overpower the West soon. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.30.141.202 (talk) 15:31, 16 December 2006 (UTC).
