The correct story of the origin of the name can be found on the offical Allman Brothers band site, under "FAQ/Biography". Noel 01:02, 23 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Additionally, This page on Snopes indicates that the T.S. Eliot story is not correct, or at least does not confirm any link between Duane's quip and the Eliot poem. I've deleted this claim; if you have any documentation beyond the official website's etymology please cite. Jgm 21:26, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Allman fans in my experience do not "emphatically deny" that Duane Allman was referencing Eliot's poem. It is unknowable if he intended this reference. I vaguely recall a Rolling Stone interview from the late 1990s in which Butch Trucks suggested Allman may have had the poem in mind, but even that is an interpretation. I want to know how this album was made. How were the tracks laid out on this double album and where did the second album begin? Somebody give me an answer.

I too would like to know which songs were on which sides of the original album. All I know for sure is that 'Mountain Jam' had to be split onto separate sides. Also, anyone know on which tracks Duane appears? Alcuin 04:04, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
