Hi, thanks for your message. The best explanation to read about notability is Wikipedia's guidelines. You can read it here and more specifically; about organisations here. The key phrases, in my opinion, are;

• "A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject."
• "Organizations whose activities are local in scope are usually not notable unless verifiable information from reliable independent sources can be found."

So if you want to establish notability you should mention things like write ups in newspapers about your organisation (and not just meeting times and location), and any coverage you've had on things you've done.

As for what you say about other family history pages, you may well have a point. However, you can't assume that just because those pages have escaped attention then you are free to follow. You can read a discussion about this here. Hope this helps. --Escape Orbit 20:16, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
