[edit] Does UTC change when DST is introduced?
Just a question: Does UTC actually change when adjustments are made for daylight savings? I had always thought that when the clocks go forwards in the UK, local time there becomes UTC+1. If this is the case, would it then not be incorrect to say for example when EST is adjusted to become EDT it is UTC-4? Osaeloka 21:04, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- No, UTC ticks on regardless of changes for daylight-saving. You are correct that summer time in the UK is UTC+1. However, EDT is UTC-4 just as EST is UTC-5. Eubulides 06:21, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed a merger from Eastern Daylight Savings Time
This page and Eastern Daylight Savings Time are about exactly the same subject, and the two pages should be merged. Any objections? Eubulides 06:19, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Agree, especially as the correct term is "Daylight Saving Time" without the "s" at the end of "Saving." Matchups 16:24, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks, there were no disagreements, so I merged the two pages. Eubulides 21:24, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
