This entry is wholly inadequate. While East Garfield Park may be featuring low levels of gentrification, despite the proclamations of newsweek, it is still very much an isolated, high poverty neighborhood. I live nearby and travel to the community frequently. The community has the highest percentage of homicides in the city and commensurate poverty. I can provide deatialed information on homicide, violence, aids, life expectancy and poverty if need be.
While gentrification is certainly a part of EGP recent history, this article gives it way too much importance, ignoring the serious plight of its residents. I would suggest that gentrification should play only a minor part in any entry on gafield park 71.194.186.73 08:58, 9 May 2007 (UTC)jp
