[edit] Earl's Party

Does having 25+ people cross 1 item off the list present problems? Only one was mentioned...

Also, the absolved tally needs updated...

[edit] Election?

Shouldn't "Blew Dad's chance to be elected mayor" and "Cost Dad the election" be the same entry? --Mr. Jonsson 19:44, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Neglected Randy

Although this was stated to stay on the list for ever in the TV show, on NBC.com it is shown as crossed off. Which should be taken as canon? I think that the show should take priority, however the article should also mention that it is crossed off on the site.

[edit] Order

Nice list, but why not list them by either number or chronology?

I don't want to steep on someone's toes by editing now, so I'm simply asking, what do you think of listing them by number, staring of #1 and so on?

They aren't listed by number because some don't have a number, and some have several numbers due to errors in the show. There was already a discussion about this when the list was on the show page. Check that thread out for a full explination. And don't forget to sign your posts. JQF 21:24, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
There are several reasons I see for leaving it as alphabetical (beginning with the amount of work it would be to change it to numerical order, I can almost use macro functions in my text editor to do it but the numbers would end up in lexicographic not numeric order). Reasons: some of them are marked unknown, where do they go? If someone wants to find an entry it is easier to search by alphabetical order than number order (of course, they can use 'Find', but they can find by number as well). I'd say leave it alphabetical, but if someone really wants it in numeric order let me know and I'll use my text editor to move the numbers to the beginning and then the sort function and then have it put it back. I feel that it would be easier to read in numbered list. Also, wouldn't numerical because more informing, and maybe even a few seasons (maybe less) we can have a near completed list. Unnumbered could go at the bottom and multiple numbers could take priorities, like Show primarily, then promotions, then 3rd party magazine ads/articles. If a number came from the show it could be put in that place of order, but should note promotion...differences. Userpie 12:20, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
I agree that this should technically be in a numbered list, however due to continuity mistakes by the shows writers, there have been repeated numbers, which would make the change hard. ViridaeTalk 13:55, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Alphabetical order for this list seems like the worst possible choice. Basically what you're saying is that it should be numerical, but it's too hard to change? Not a very good reason. Unknown numbers can go at the end. Duplicate numbers can be sorted by episode. Alphabetically should be the last possible option since it really makes no sense. Laplacian 01:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
Correct. We shouldn't make a bad choice because it's easy. Please sort by number and put the oddments at the end. Any discrepancies can be dealt with by footnote. Earl's list is numbered in the show, it should be numbered here. --kingboyk 11:41, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Why not make it a sortable list? Zurqoxn 07:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Change "Attempted" Color

Does anyone thing that the "Attempted" items should get their own color? I was thinking they should be red or something. JQF 16:14, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Because the page uses pastel colours for it's key, it's horrible to read if you're colour-blind. That's 1 in 50 people who can't comprehend it. 144.124.19.33 18:53, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Made Randy steal electronics & got caught (picture is still ???)

His picture is still up at the Circuit City. I'm not sure which episode he mentions this in, but I think that is probably what the ??? is.

Does someone want to replace the ??? with 'up at Circuit City' ?

[edit] Unlisted Entry

During the season finale, didn't Earl have an entry for giving Randy a swirly? He completed it right at the begining of the show by letting Randy give him a swirly before focusing on the money he stole. --Blackjack48 00:09, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind. I see it. --Blackjack48 01:51, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] #261

  1. 261 is used twice. it is the neglected randy number and also ruined joys wedding.

[edit] Segmented the List

I segmented the list into each an each letter section, much like other list pages are to make editing The List much easier in the future. Does anybody have any comments or suggestions to improve it? JQF 14:24, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I like it. Is there any way to set the column widths so that they're all the same? --Dmleach 16:46, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Not that I'm aware of, but if anybody knows how, fell free to fix it. JQF 12:54, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, fixed. If the column widths are too small/big, just change the "width" next to the title field of each column. --Daduzi talk 21:51, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moved page

Title of main article is My Name Is Earl (with a capital "I"), changed to reflect the correct title of the show, (as was discussed on that article's talk page). Moved "The List (My Name is Earl)" to "The List (My Name Is Earl)". Wavy G 19:01, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The list 0-99?

What about the rest of the numbering?

[edit] Always took a penny never left a penny

It is stated that Earl made up for this but he never did. I watched episode 1.2 over and over but could not find when it happened, he only talked about needing to cross this off the list. If nobody can tell me the episode where Earl crosses it off ill change this part. -- AS Artimour 22:01, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Colors too similar

Outstanding (not yet resolved) Has been completed Has been attempted, but not completed
Has been started: work-in-progess Has been crossed off the List for reasons other than a standard completion Meant to be permanent

Does anybody else find the current colors too similar? Specifically, there are two shades of green and two shades of red. Unless someone has a major, objection, I'm going to change them around a bit. Give me your input. Thanks! Lovelac7 07:16, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Well it's not two greens and two reds, there's a green, blue-green, red and a kind of mauve color. They were chosen because the text didn't have to messed with. You may need to properly adjust your screen, but if you can suggest any better colors, I'm all ears. I've posted the current version at the top for refference. JQF 01:54, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Double sided list

In episode 1.23 "BB" we see a doubled sided list, this makes the comment in the organisation section about the list being able to fit on one side of the paper incorrect.

[edit] Seven Network

I think the seven network one shouldn't be counted.

List of ones that I seen:

[edit] Pillow list

Should these four that Earl writes on a prison pillow, in episode 6-3 be on the regular list, or should we make a subcatagory on the page, as they are numbered for themselves?

These are the ones. 1: Stole an extra blan... (cut of by the screen. Blanket, I assume)

2: Looked the other way during a stabbing

3: Wrote on a prison pillow case

4: Made Franks girl dump him

[edit] Completed by Someone else, New Type

Should a new color be added for "Compleated by Someopne else" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.251.66.183 (talk) 02:38, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Made kid afraid of hands.

I don't know how to add things on. But there is one episode where he "Made kid afraid of hands." It was crossed off by Gods little finger while Earl was in his comma. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.156.66.192 (talk) 20:57, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
