Image talk:Earth elevation histogram 2.svg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ǪEarth area=500x10^12km^2 not 50

This image really confused me until I realized it's not really a histogram, it's a cumulative distribution. If it were a histogram then it would show what fraction of the earth's crust exists at each elevation if the horizontal axis is correct then that would mean 100 percent of the earth is at the bottom of the Mariana Trench... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.235.83.170 (talk) 07:39, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
