Oświetlenie Ziemi przez Słońce w dniu przesilenia zimowego na półkuli północnej.

Grafika: Przemyslaw "Blueshade" Idzkiewicz.

Widok od strony półkuli wschodniej, ukazuje południe w centralno-europejskiej strefie czasowej w dniu przesilenia zimowego (dla półkuli północnej - na południowej jest to przesilenie letnie).

Do stworzenia tej grafiki użyte zostały zdjęcia:

• "Earth's City Lights" [1],
• oraz "The Blue Marble: Land Surface, Ocean Color and Sea Ice" [2].

Zostały one wykonane na zlecenie amerykańskiej agencji rządowej, NASA i jako takie stanowią zasoby "public domain".

Mapy oświetlenia kuli ziemskiej utworzono przy pomocy programu "Home Planet" [3], autorstwa Johna Walkera.
