Well, it needs an article, but in part because of its use of GPL software without - as I understand it - releasing all the source code. This is significant because it generates income for the owning company via otherwise unnecessary premium rate phone calls (e.g. after a video call is completed, it calls a number which costs the owner 50p) and there are obviously people who'd like to be able to use the hardware without that 'feature'.
