John Dwight Smith (born November 8, 1963 in Tallahassee, Florida) is a former left and right fielder in Major League Baseball who played from 1989 to 1996.
In 1989, Smith finished second in balloting for National League Rookie of the Year behind teammate Jerome Walton, who collected 22 of 24 first-place votes. Smith and Walton are both still popular with Cub fans today.
Smith appeared in the 1995 World Series as a member of the Atlanta Braves, who won the Series that season over the Cleveland Indians.
