The Dutchbat (Dutch: Dutch, and Bat: battalion) was a Dutch battalion of the United Nations, belonging to UNPROFOR, which was deployed from February 1994 to July 1995 for defending the Muslim enclave of Srebrenica during the yugoslav wars in 1992 -1995. In its third replacement, Dutchbat III, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Karremans, oversaw as thousands of men and boys don't be transported to Bosnian area, after the fall of the city in the hands of the Serbian army. Then it was discovered that all of them were killed. (See also: Srebrenica Massacre).
