Photo by - Sougata Bhar @ Delhi, India. Durga Puja is the prime festival of the Bengalis the world over. It is a nine day festival also celebrated as Navaratri elsewhere in India. During this festival which usually occurs in the months of October - November, Goddess Durga is worshipped. The sons of Durga (Ganesha - on the extreme left and Kartik - on the extreme right) can be seen in the picture. The daughters of Durga (Luxmi - on the left and Saraswati - on the right) too can be seen along with Goddess Durga. Luxmi, is worshipped as the Goddess of wealth and Saraswati is worshipped as the Goddess of wisdom.
