Durham Regional Highway 2

For Simcoe Street, see Durham Regional Road 2.
Durham Regional Highway 2, locally known as Kingston Road, was the first controlled access route in Ontario.[citation needed] It starts in Toronto, where it is known as Kingston Road, and continues east through Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa and Clarington after which the respective municipalities have given this road a number of differing names.
This road is mainly a typical suburban thoroughfare in most parts except through the old city centers of some of the municipalities.
