SOME POINTS

Duquesne has aging but excellent housing stock when examining the brick structures.

The frame structures are faring poorly for the most part.

Duquesne is still know as a heroin distribution center for the tri-state region.

Duquesne has a relatively high millage asssociated with its real estate tax, yet the assessments are so low that the tax structure is affordable for most. However, tax revenues are at an historical low as of this writing in 2008.

Consolidation of services has begun with the closing of Duquesne High School [long overdue due to corruption and graft regarding the use of funds to rebuild and administer the school]. The city would benefit further by dissolution and absorption into the Borough of west Mifflin, a logical geographical choice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.119.242.5 (talk) 18:39, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
