Talk:Dunk (footwear)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
the very first sentence of "designed for basketball" doesn't make any sense?

[edit] First Edit
I edited the original Nike Dunk page for various grammatical reasons and for more depth. When I first encountered it, I noticed it focused mainly on the Nike Skateboarding aspects, but I have not yet tried to fix that. I think this is a good foundation for what is likely to grow into a very long, interesting, and insightful article. If you have any questions, concerns, or objections, feel free to make some changes and contact me about my mistakes. Thanks.
[edit] Designed For Basketball
somehow I stumbled into this page. I began reading it and was totally stumped by "The Nike Dunk has a profile outer sole than its parent shoes". This totally doesn't make sense to me, and I couldn't possibly change it to make sense since I'm not sure what a "profile outer sole" is, or what "parent shoes" are (other than something that I may wear).
Any thoughts? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.90.162.101 (talk) 15:02, 15 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] A Few Issues
Upon reading this, I noticed that there truly is too much focus on the "SB dunk". In my opinion, this article gives readers the impression that the dunk is popular because of it's association with skateboarding. The popularity of the skateboard specific dunk is actually fairly recent. I added the "reintroduction of the dunk section" to this article to give more insight about how the dunk was established as a staple of Nike's sneaker line. I also believe that the main picture of the tiffany dunk is not really representative of the general image of the dunk, as it merely reflects the "sneaker head" influenced dunk. Perhaps creating a separate article for "SB dunks" would be a good idea.Supreme88 04:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC) [1]
