Thanks to everyone who's doing their best to keep on top of the vandals! Unfortunately, it's all too easy to guess where most of them come from... Aside from that, can anyone think of stuff that should be added that hasn't been broached? We could create a to-do list here of information that should be in the article. -- Ithika 11:09, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Can anyone say for certain whether Cos- or Gos- is the preferred prefix our old earl? I've always used the latter but appear to have been edied out, which messes up other links and searches? And why the Gaelic replacements for Kenneth and Malcolm - I appreciate that a part of Scotland may prefer and use them but is it neccessary in an English text? Doc 22/08/06
I see the links to websites but is there any substantial (books) source material? I have a few old books here but I am surprised this article hasn't been had for lack of paper sources. David Lauder 19:56, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Added a beginning of a bibliography, which can be adapted into a reference list later. I'll keep adding as I pull together some of the more relevant and reliable articles and shorter works that might deserve individual mention rather than chasing them up from Perry or Denniston 86.160.64.96 08:42, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Appreciate the idea but WP is not for reading lists. A concise footnote to reference a source which has been used to create the article is great. Books that are simply "about <article title>" are not, with the exception of notable books with existing WP articles (ie can be bluelinked) which have a direct relationship with the subject of the article (eg are set there, inspired by events that took place there) but are not suitable as sources. Then you won't object if I reference/ add citations my original text properly, now I have the time to get back to this? 86.160.64.76 12:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Deiz - Don't know how often you look in? Extended intro, early history and tweaked layout. If you feel it need refs or citations at any pint mark them up and they'll be supplied. If it looks OK I'll work up the next section later.86.160.70.96 11:10, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
