A dump analyzer is a programming tool which is used for understanding a machine readable core dump.

The GNU utils strings, file^{[citation needed]}, objdump^{[citation needed]} readelf^{[citation needed]} and the powerful gdb can all be used to look inside core files.

The introspector aims to be a core dump analyzer for a compiler.^{[citation needed]}
