A dump analyzer is a programming tool which is used for understanding a machine readable core dump.
The GNU utils strings, file[citation needed], objdump[citation needed] readelf[citation needed] and the powerful gdb can all be used to look inside core files.
The introspector aims to be a core dump analyzer for a compiler.[citation needed]
