Dumbarton Academy Former Pupils Amateur Football Club are a football (soccer) club from Dumbarton in Scotland. They were formed by former pupils of Dumbarton Academy, the local non-denominational secondary school for the town. They compete in the Caledonian Amateur Football League, Their strip (uniform) colours are white with a yellow and blue band on the front. The club now also have a youth set-up running one of the best under 21's teams in Scotland, and as of the start of season 2007-2008 they now have an under 19's side. Home games are played at the Dumbarton Academy Playing Fields. The club has players from all over local area and even further a field. Players don't need to have attended the Dumbarton Academy School. Current 1st team manager is former player Iain Howison, and he is assisted by both Andrew Porter and Gavin Gilchrist. Under 21’s Manager is Darren Pennycuik, assisted by Jim Gourlay and Joe Darby with Andy Macdonald being the superstar of the team. They have ex Rangers star Filip Sebo upfront also, The club have recently added Billy Ferguson to coaching staff and he was appointed to take charge of the new under 19’s squad in July 07 helping him are Iain Davie (Eido) and Gary Black. The 1st Team won the CALEDONIAN LEAGUE season 2005-6, and the 21's a number of trophies as well as the league Championship During the season 2004-05.The 19s also enjoyed a successful first season in 2007-2008.
President David Muir has also recently Joined the board of directors at senior Side Dumbarton however has pledged to continue in his roll at the helm of Dumbarton Accies. www.dumbartonaccies.co.uk
