[edit] Rumour
- "a longstanding rumour is that originally Apogee planned to port Mega Man to the PC, but could not get the rights."
I've never heard of this rumour before. Is there some non-wikipedia source? 81.70.123.72 13:37, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
I think this rumour may be fed not only by gameplay similarities but by the rampant sprite lifting from the PC conversion of MM (as documented at http://dosclassics.com/duke/1other.php ... with this evidence, however, you could just as well make an argument that DN was originally intended as a port of Turrican 8) Pseudo Intellectual 05:08, 28 October 2005 (UTC)
- It wouldn't be unprecedented in the industry, id software's Commander Keen started life as a PC port of Super Mario Bros. boffy_b 01:38, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Post-Apocalyptic
From the article:
- The game is set in the near future, in a slightly post-apocalyptic world.
I removed this as I don't recall it being post-apocalyptic at all, but more becuase it is a ridiculous sentence. I don't see how there could be a little bit of an apocalypse. boffy_b 01:38, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Name
Can we correct the title? The correct title of the game is "Duke Nukum"
- Nope, the correct title is Duke Nukem. If you read the History section of this article, it mentions that the game name was changed to Duke Nukum for a while, when it was thought the Duke Nukem name was copyrighted. But before and after that, for the sequels, it's always been Duke Nukem. There is no need to change the article name, and the fact is already mentioned in the article itself.Sega381 16:22, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
