[edit] Request for Third Opinion

template:History of Manchuria is suffering from extensive revert warring, and discussion is heading nowhere. A RfC was filed, but was only able to get one outside commentor[1]. Please provide a third opinion on whether template:History of Manchuria should be titled History of Manchuria[2] or History of Northeast China[3][4] to facilitate dispute resolution. Thank you. 08:48, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

I believe there is a misunderstanding. With regards to this comment: all contributing 3O editors in consensus to keep the current article title, the content under dispute is the title within the template, not the name of the template article. Cydevil38 07:02, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
I had said article when I had meant template, thanks for pointing that out --Dscarth 15:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Just To Let You Know

Hey, just wanted to apoligize for EHC's actions - he's actually done that a lot recently, where he tries to condemn other editors (as you can probably tell from the language) - but I just wanted to let you know that in my mind it was a fair argument - I disagree with it because I think that if your only goal is to change a spelling then you shouldn't be on the talk page, but regardless it was a fair argument and EHC's positions are not my own.--danielfolsom 20:19, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

well now that I have heard this from Daniel, I agree with you 100 % Dscarth that his argument was fallacious if he was using your number of edits to say that he has a right to question you. I think you have every right to be on the talk page if you think the name of the article should be changed from yoghurt to yogurt. Sorry about the misunderstanding Dscarth. I didn't really know what Daniel meant by that but now it's clear. And actually Dscarth, I agree with you and think yogurt is a simpler spelling that is more common so I have voted that we change the name. EverybodyHatesChris 11:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah it does seem kind of over - and just to let you know I've never been mad at you - I have been made at Schmucky because of his allegations, but everyone else there i'm fine with. For me, I actually use yogurt - but it's just kinda frustrating to metaphorically have a lot of journalist come into a starving country and take notes on what type of hat the people wear. I mean maybe later, when the article is a bit more developed, it'll be worth talking about - and I might go with yogurt, but for now I just don't think the article itself is suitable enough to have a Euro/American spelling war. If you have no problem with me doing so I think I might archive it just so the article can start fresh again, but it's your call. --danielfolsom 15:56, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

What allegations did I make against you Daniel? All I was doing was trying to get you two to get along and I am happy that you have. EverybodyHatesChris 17:03, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 1st Warning For Incivility

You Wrote For the record I have no actual anger or ill will towards you. For clarity, by 'you' I mean danielfolsom, not EHC. I think the whole debate was a dead end from the get-go, because if you cant get a reasonably large number of editors one way or the other then nothing happens. I'll keep an eye on it, and if there is a significant push for "no H" then I'll be there.

Dscarth, incivility like this, I'm not going to tolerate. It's nice that you're finally getting along with Daniel, but you can't disrespect me in the process. I didn't say anything uncivil towards you, so you had no right going to Daniel's page and making that completely uncivil comment towards me. All I said to you was you may have been mistaken in saying his argument was fallacious which was true before he made it clear what he meant. If you have ill will or anger towards someone for no apparent reason and just go randomly saying it on another user's page like you did, you're being uncivil towards them. I'm going to let you go with a warning this time, but the next time, I think I'll have to report you, Dscarth. EverybodyHatesChris 17:01, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Go ahead and report me. I think you need to seek professional medical attention, a psychologist may be able to help you work through what you're dealing with. --Dscarth 18:24, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Uhh ... that comment on my talk wasn't directed at me was it? I don't think I warned you for anything so I'll assume it's for EHC - and honestly don't worry about EHC, sadly he's not sure about wikipedia policy and thus has threatened to report multiple people (view his talk page, my talk page, or Rockpocket's talk page for examples. Seriously, if he tries to report you just tell me and I'll gladly back you up - although no sane admin would do anything to you - you've done absolutely nothing wrong. --danielfolsom 00:51, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2 more cases of incivility

Dscarth, I'm just putting up the 2 more cases of your incivility (after) your warning, when I've only been polite to you. I'm going to put them up on your user talk page so when I show an administrator, they'll know what I'm talking about. Because one of the cases of your incivility was on Danielfolsom's page, they may get confused when I'm informing them about that one so I had to put it here. Here are the 2 cases of your incivility after you were given a warning just so you're not confused as to why I'm going to report you:

You wrote: Go ahead and report me. I think you need to seek professional medical attention, a psychologist may be able to help you work through what you're dealing with [<--- End of what you wrote]

You also wrote::: Furthermore, you are coming up onto our talk pages trying to start shit, and warn me for something I said on a talk page? To quote Wikipedias policy on liking other people, WP:UNCIVIL: "You don't have to like an editor as a person" ... I DONT LIKE YOU. [<--- End of what you wrote]

I'll be polite and let you know why Im going to tell an administrator on you, Dscarth. The first time I gave you a warning for the remark about having anger and ill will towards me for no reason. The 2nd remark is more obvious and it was a blatant insult. The 3rd comment you made A) any editor can get into the argument to try to help out which is what I was trying to do. The argument going on, on the yoghurt talk page is not YOUR argument with Daniel only. It's for any editor who would like to comment on and vote on whether the name should stay or be changed. Sorry, you can't tell me I can't get involved, Dscarth. It's not up to you. B) You've also used incivil language and I wasnt trying to start trouble by giving you a warning. I had to give you a warning because you said you had ill will towards me and you had no reason to, so I thought it was uncivil. Then there was the 'I don't like you' in capital letters which is like shouting at someone. These are 3 gross shows of incivility from you and I have to report them. I just wanted to let you know why before I do. EverybodyHatesChris 22:06, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Don't come up on my talk page to try and start shit with me, end of discussion. Anyone with half a brain can see you are unstable, and seeking professional medical help is probably the best advice you've been given since joining Wikipedia. --Dscarth 23:01, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Uhmm, ok - since this will leave you a different new message notice, just to let you know I wrote something new in the section above, so read that first, but while possibly deserved saying he needs medical intention might be a bit over the top (XD), either way though, it's still not worth reporting and you're fine --danielfolsom 00:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Oh now I see what happened, EHC moved his comment when yours was below his - sorry I should've caught that. And here's the problem- if EHC wants to report you - he won't go to ANI, he doesn't know that exist, insteal he'll go to an admin's talk page. Crap -which he has done here. I'll support you - although you might want to get a word in yourself. --danielfolsom 02:01, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Worst Wikipedian Ever

[edit] template:History of Manchuria

Wiki pokemon is now trying to replace template:History of Manchuria with template:History of Northeast China, so I have nominated template:History of Northeast China on TfD(Template for Deletion) for POV forking here. Please help reach a consensus on this issue. Cydevil38 20:16, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I have made a request for move on behalf of the editors who's been persistently edit warring to add "Northeast China" to the title of the template. Please join the discussion[5] to help reach a consensus. Cydevil38 (talk) 00:59, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
