[edit] Matt Neal's hometown

Are we sure Matt Neal lives in Droitwich? I thought he lived in Hanbury - a village near Droitwich but not part of Droitwich. Neal's profile on the BTCC website seems to confirm this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.168.127.196 (talk) 13:57, 12 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Salt extraction and subsidence

According to the information / interpretation panels around the town, the subsidence of High Street only started after the opening of John Corbett's pumps at Stoke Prior. As the plant extracted so much brine, it out-competed the other salt companies in town, driving them out of business. Eventually, the Stoke Prior plant was made unprofitable itself due to the number of insurance claims from residents / companies in the town.

The town itself also appears to have adopted a Latin motto: Sal Sapit Omnia (Salt Flavours All)

I've added the above information here as a 'holding' page until I can find some online sources to confirm it. Mittfh 10:04, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
