Jon Michael is a Systems Administrator and an unpublished writer from Staten Island, New York.
[edit] What is Alorya?
The story of Jon's writing career is that he could never finish anything. After hundreds of brain storms, he'd simply lose interest and walk away.
During late 2005, he started writing a Star Wars novel introducing a young padawan who's master is captured by Darth Vader shortly after the events of Episode III. Augen was able to crash land on Tatooine and kind of scrape by working for the hutts.
That was it...
That was where he quit. He was hoping to dedicate the book to his future son.
Jon's New Years present from a certain LARGE bank was not having his contract re-re-renewed. An old friend, Sophie, helped Jon out by getting him a little job to help him and his pregnant wife handle the financial burden.
In February, to make matters worse, at seven months pregnant his wife fell down a flight of stairs and was bed ridden for the duration of the pregnancy. She almost lost the baby.
March welcomed a new member of the family and it had been the first good thing to happen to Jon that year. But, it wasn't to last very long. Aiden had to go back into the hospital less than twenty-four hours after he was released.
That night in the hospital he care for and waited with his sick son. At one point, he asked the nurse for a pen and paper. To deal with reality, he had to find some way to escape from it. It was there that he wrote the ending to Alorya.
Much of the Star Wars novel he wrote was converted into this Sci-Fi/Fantasy and he expressed every ounce of pain he was in through that pen and paper. Not everything works out with a happy ending in the book, but the story must be told.
