[edit] Critique
First, I suspect that this article draws heavily from this single document. Some sentences are identical.
Second, I had to rephrase a misleading statement about the acknowledgment by the French government of the role of the French police. I've been to school in a public school in France, and, as far as I remember, the collaboration activity of Vichy France, including its complicity in the extermination of Jews, was well-documented.
However, the official point of view of the government was that Vichy France was a regime that took power illegally to replace the Republic, and thus that the Republic was not responsible for the actions of Vichy France. David.Monniaux 15:17, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Internment camp (not "deportation camp")
The French Wikipedia article, Camp de Drancy, refers to it descriptively as "camp d'internement de Drancy". The English-language term "internment camp" is well known, in common usage, and more suitable to describe this camp than the present "deportation camp", as it was not merely a waystation for deportation of all its internees. Therefore I'm suggesting a name change for this article. -- Deborahjay 12:21, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
