The Drake Bulldogs are the athletic teams of the Drake University. Athletic scholarships are offered in men's and women's basketball, soccer, track and field, cross-country, golf and tennis in addition to women's softball. However, all football players are walk-ons as Drake does not offer athletic scholarships in that sport. Drake used to field a baseball team. The university is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and competes in NCAA Division I, they play in the Pioneer Football League (I-AA in football) fielding 15 varsity teams in 9 sports:
