Dragostea Din Tei is Haiducii's debut single, released in Italy in January 2004. It's a cover of O-Zone's single and had more success in some Italy than the original O-Zone recording. The O-Zone recording reached the Top Spot for many weeks and became a huge airplay hit. The record became Gold within the first two weeks of its release and it's reached a Platinum CD Single. The single features 5 versions of the song, including the Original Mix.
A music video was made for this single, with a storyline, about a man being followed by his girlfriend or ex-girlfriend. A remixed video was later released (the Gabry Ponte Mix), with few changes but used for the promo, nonetheless.

[edit] Parody
The Austrian DJ Friki created a parody of the song, showing an amateur video of himself on his webpage, where he sings and dances to the song. The video ends with him slamming the record of the song over his head. It became popular on the internet, and DJ Friki was featured on several German TV magazines. A Hardstyle remix by him and the video were later included on a second edition of the Maxi CD of the song.
