Dragonfly 920
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dragonfly 920 is an 9.2 metre (29.9 ft.) trimaran manufactured in Denmark by Quorning Boats.
[edit] Cruising version
Unlike the other Dragonflies, and most other trimarans, the cruising version already has the maximum safe Sail Plan, as standard fitment. Larger and more powerful sails could be added but it's not recommended.
[edit] Extreme Version
The major difference between the Cruiser version and the Extreme is the Sail Plan. However, in order to hang larger sails, the beam had to be extended by a meter, by lengthening the akas. The amas are also one foot longer, in volume, increasing their boyancy. This yields a much more stable platform to hang the larger Sail Plan on, at the sacrifice of a half-meter of folded length. The mast is also made from Carbon Fiber and is 1.5m longer. In the case of the DF920, the extreme version is, in fact, a slightly different boat.
