Dragonfly 35
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dragonfly 35 is an 10.7 metre (35 ft.) trimaran manufactured in Denmark by Quorning Boats. It is the only one whose model designatiopn is in feet instead of meters. This model was specifically designed to replace the DF1000, a 10.0m (32.5 ft.) design that was rapidly approaching obsolesence.
[edit] Cruising version
|
Cruiser Sail Plan |
|
| Mast | 15m |
| Main Sail | 44m2 |
| Furling Genoa | 28m2 |
| Asymetric Spinnaker | 90m2 |
| Lightwind Genoa | 55m2 |
| Total | 217m2 |
The cruising version is nicely outfitted and appointed with some features that take it well beyond the old DF1000. As with all Dragonflies, and most other trimarans, the cruising version is on the cautious side of tame, leaving plenty of room to hang something closer to the edge of the comfort zone.
[edit] Ultimate Version

Ultimate Sail Plan |
|
| Mast | 16.5m |
| Main Sail | 51m2 |
| Furling Genoa | 32m2 |
| Asymetric Spinnaker | 120m2 |
| Lightwind Genoa | 65m2 |
| Total | 268m2 |
The only real difference between the Cruiser version and the Ultimate is the Sail Plan. The boats are otherwise identical. This Sail Plan will actually allow an inexperienced sailor to get into the occasional spot of trouble.
