[edit] Re:Shinra
Yeah, the old one had bigger lettering and character portraits so I thought it would be a little better. Anyway, nice additions to the article. Axem Titanium 03:28, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Goebbels
Sorry, I do not quite get the point of your edit to this article (which I have not reverted). A Ph.D. degree is a doctorate; so why change from one to the other? If anything, changing to your format is less precise, as it may be taken to mean that he held a medical degree which, of course, he did not. I propose to revert your edit after a few days unless we can come to consensus agreement. I am, I should say, easy to please.--Anthony.bradbury 23:28, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey. Please do not feel that I was arguing, or being in any way antagonistic. I was not. I was simply asking.--Anthony.bradbury 00:06, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

- Also the author of the article, whose expertise on the NSDAP era I defer to, tells me that the prefix "Dr" rather than the suffix "Ph.D" was the normal usage at the time. This is why I did not revert you, and why I will not of course do so now. I am sorry if you felt that I was crticising, which I was not. Quizical, yes. Critical, no.--Anthony.bradbury 17:12, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dr.
Is this penchant for using largely honorary titles for historical figures something that is common? Is there a policy or guideline for it? At the very least I believe you should provide better argumentation at talk:Joseph Goebbels than you've provided so far.

[edit] List of character articles
Hi, I have noticed that you have been moving some List of character articles around recently. Would you be interested in leaving your opinion on Wikipedia_talk:Lists (stand-alone_lists)#Lists of fictional characters by series? Has the FF project decided on a set standard? I couldn't see it anywhere. --Squilibob 06:12, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Anti Catholicism
I am sorry, sir. But your comment on the discussion page of Anti-Roman Catholicism - editing it to show the "truth" reveals the great bias you have placed in the article. Scotland is anti-catholic in its attempt to maintain its national pride which has been taken away as a result of Irish immigration - note the 1928 Kirk leaflet on "The threat of Irish Immigration to our Scottish Nationalism". Furthermore, to say that the orange order, or protestant anti-papism, is born out of ignorance of the Catholic faith is wrong and quite frankly dangerous. Perhaps, the worship of statues among a list of at least 107 other anti-scriptural doctrinal errors I could easily compile of the RC Church is a reason behind protestant bigotry. To claim that those who are bigoted "believe Protestants don't believe in God" (as you say) is complete fallacy. However, I would not expect you to know that the entry conditions for the Grand Lodge are a firm belief in our Lord God and saviour and a regular attendance of church. Well, before I become carried away and write an essay on the scriptural failures of the Roman Catholic Church and its followers as a legitimate grounds for persecution I would like to reiterate that not all anti-Catholicism is born out of ignorance. And if it weren't for Protestantism free-education, freedom of thought and freedom of religion would not exist in the west today. Moreover the pope is the anti-Christ as described in revelation of Christ to his servant John chapter 17 verse 5 and Mary is not without sin - if she weren't then Jesus would never have been able to save us from our own transgressions.
[edit] I Timothy
With all respect Sir, in the New Testament church Christians "searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so" (Acts 17:11)
God made the Bible for even the common man to understand on his own. The church has no power except through God, how then can it go against His written word? Angry Aspie 16:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, only Roman Catholic clergy are allowed to "understand" or "interpret" the bible in the Roman Catholic Church. That's why despite things like "Thou shalt not take unto thee any image of anything be it on earth, in heaven above or in the waters under the earth" into kissing the feet of statues of the virgin Mary. proceeding unsigned comment by anon

[edit] Dr Gavin
I know that you are a good hearted and spiritually minded person. I will pray that God may open your heart and eyes to see the beauty and simplicity of His word, without the traditions of man blinding your eyes.

- Anyone haven given much study to the New Testament church must admit several basic facts about it:
1. It had no universal head on earth or denominational structure. Each congregation was autonomous, being run be only by elders/bishops. 2. Elders/ bishops must be married and have believing children. Deacons also must be married and have children. Marriage is never forbidden, although to dedicate one's life to Christ through celibacy is considered commendable on an INDIVIDUAL basis. Paul was himself as such, but there is never any church positions requiring celibacy. 3. There is no mention of musical instruments played in the early church, until several centuries later.
If you can find any NT passages contradicting this, please show me. The NT church is very different no only from the Catholic church, but every denomination as well. (especially since there were no 'denominations' in the early church) Angry Aspie 17:46, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
