- Black Phoenix Kung Fu is a recently lost martial art that originated in China. Although there is no specifically known time period, it is known that the style is known to have only been taught to a select few individuals.
Origin
- Black Phoenix Kung-Fu was taught by a Shaolin monk who broke away from one of the five temples. His original name is thought to have been Ying-jao, but upon leaving China he migrated west and founded his own temple in a secret location. He kept the location of his temple a secret for fear that his style would fall into the wrong hands and be used for destructive purposes. Prior to the creation of the Black Phoenix Temple, it is recorded that Ying-jao changed his name, but it is not known what he changed it to.
Apprentices
- There are a few known apprentices of the Black Phenix style, though only two of their names were ever documented. The known apprentices were only four, and five years of age at the time of Ying-jao's death in 1994. The four year-old, Kent, and the five year-old, Mark, are supposedly the only two surviving apprentices of the style. Though their last names haven't been documented, it is thought that the two are still alive somewhere. It's also been thought that the Black Phoenix temple has been destroyed in order to keep the style's existance a secret. Some rumor that this is the reason why no mountain temple by this name has ever been found.
