Dr. Malik Murtaza

Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Malik was quite possibly the most regularly watched Islamic scholar on TV in Pakistan.^{[citation needed]} His talks on various Islamic topics turned him into a respected personality, especially among the moderate Sunnis.^{[citation needed]} He was assassinated in Lahore in 2002, allegedly by an outlawed extremist organization. Dr Murtaza had been teaching Quran and other Islamic studies at various institutions in Pakistan and foreign countries.^{[citation needed]} He had also been delivering lectures on the various television channels and other media forums.^{[citation needed]}

The professor had two wives and eight children.^{[citation needed]}
