Dr. Malik Murtaza

Dr. Ghulam Murtaza Malik was quite possibly the most regularly watched Islamic scholar on TV in Pakistan.[citation needed] His talks on various Islamic topics turned him into a respected personality, especially among the moderate Sunnis.[citation needed] He was assassinated in Lahore in 2002, allegedly by an outlawed extremist organization. Dr Murtaza had been teaching Quran and other Islamic studies at various institutions in Pakistan and foreign countries.[citation needed] He had also been delivering lectures on the various television channels and other media forums.[citation needed]
The professor had two wives and eight children.[citation needed]
