Just wanted to thank you for your excellent work editing Republic of China and Taiwan, both articles are much improved. Keep up the good work! --Loren 15:35, 21 May 2005 (UTC)

Apparently it's tradition around here to award barnstars for good work, so in belated reference to the above:

[edit] Beware of Jiang

Good job on the Taiwan articles. I wanted you to be aware that User:Jiang has listed you as an "Attack Account" here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:AN/I

He is communist China POV pusher and will thwart any attempts to contribute anything contrary to their position. He is a propaganda specialist focusing primarily on Asian topics. I just wanted to warn you.--JIANGSUCKS 23:24, 26 May 2005 (UTC)

That's some name you got there. Well, I do disagree with Jiang. But am I supposed to do something about his accusation? I've been cleared, and I would say that I've made pretty researched contributions to both the articles, so I feel like my work should speak for itself. It does seem like a sleazy way to keep me from editing, although I've been cleared, so it seems Jiang's not going to be able to use that to shut me down (well I guess I could go on a namecalling rampage or something, but sorry, not interested). But yeah, really, I don't feel like I did anything that was remotely controversial, and it seems whoever's checking up realizes that.--DownUnder555 01:57, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List_of_sovereign_states

Hi, Are you an expat in Taiwan? I've recently moved back to Taiwan from Berkeley, CA. Would it be possible for you to check out the List_of_sovereign_states page? There's an issue over there of listing the Republic of China as a de-facto independent state. Given the emotions of using the terms de-facto and de-jure, I've been trying to remove the footnote that link the ROC as a de-facto state and replace it with a footnote that simply says see the Political status of Taiwan. I believe that there will be people who will be arguing against me, and I may need backup on this issue. Allentchang 16:38, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Taiwan and ROC

Re [1]

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into it. -Loren 16:44, 4 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hi again

Jiang applies strict interpretations of the ROC constitution. I tend to apply loose interpretations. While the US has a history of Surpreme Courts struggling with strict and loose interpretations of the US Constitution, the tradition isn't well established yet with the ROC's constitutional court. My chances with editting the Wikipedia will be compromised on weekdays as I will be now working with TSMC. If you have anything urgent or pressing things to tell me, you call e-mail me using the Wikipedia's E-mail the user link. Allentchang 10:44, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

You moved Double Tenth Day to Double Ten Day. As a common courtesy, please fix the double redirects (which can be found at Special:Whatlinkshere/Double_Ten_Day) after moving a page. --Jiang 18:31, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
