[edit] Enlisted officer?
One thing that is a bit weird is the notion that someone could "enlist" as an officer. Officers are commissioned. Enlisted men "enlist" -- enter into an employment contract -- in the armed forces. I don't know if McKay served as an officer or an enlisted man, but to say that he "enlisted" as an officer is wrong. --Bob Bolin
