Talk:Double skunk
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Double skunk has one meaning (as described) and is known to be used in 2 games (cribbage and foosball). According to the avoid neologisms page. You could argue for its exclusion because it is not a term listed in any english dictionary that I can find, however I am sure that I can find similar examples on wikipedia.
It is a common term, used very often in cribbage (as cited on the cribbage page) and also now in foosball. As I said above, both have the same meaning.
- Use of the term in cribbage is at least thirty years old, and probably much older.--Brouhaha 00:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Keep
I'm in favor of keeping the article. Maybe lose the picture, though...--Paul McDonald 02:06, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proposal
OK, I accept the usage in cribbage. The foosball usage is definitely neologism though - it's just a bunch of guys at the office who have taken to using a cribbage term in foosball. Therefore, unless anybody objects, I'll edit the article to remove the foosball references.--Chris 09:01, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
