Double Trouble delivers a selection of originals and standards with powerful playing and singing with Miller yet again being compared with the likes of Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Rod Stewart. The album took shape in April 1978 at the Record Plant in New York and Miller gathered another impressive line-up including legendary drummer BJ Wilson from Procol Harum, highly rated session player Ray Russell, and a two-man horn section of Chris Mercer and Martin Drover. The most impressive recruit being keyboardist and vocalist Paul Carrack, who would co-write five of the songs with Miller. Steven Tyler from Aerosmith makes a guest appearance as backing vocalist
