Dottie Wiltse Collins was a star in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which was in existence from 1943-54. Wiltse Collins, a pitcher, first played in the AAGPBL in 1944, winning 20 games that year. In 1945 she posted a record of 29-10 while leading the league with 293 strikeouts. She also had an ERA of just 0.83. Wiltse Collins ended up playing six years in the AAGPBL. A four-time 20-game winner, Wiltse Collins finished with a career record of 117-76 with an ERA of 1.83 and 1205 strikeouts. She retired at just 26 years old so she could raise a family.
