[edit] Early history of this tournament
There was an early PGA event called the Eastern Open that was played from about 1950-1956 and then it became the Eastern Open Invitational from 1957 until 1962. Was it related to this event? Precursor? Forerunner? Not related? If anyone has a good answer, please put in on my talk page.--Hokeman 18:32, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
