On 1 July 2006, he joined Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur FC. On 14 July 2006, he scored the first goal of his Tottenham career on his debut appearance in a pre-season friendly for the Spurs XI team in a 7-1 win against Enfield Town. He then went on to make appearances against the Chelsea Youth Team. Dervite eventually played for the Reserves against West Ham; a game in which he had to mark Teddy Sheringham, and scored with a powerful header.

He made his competitive debut for Tottenham in the 3-1 win over Port Vale in the Carling Cup 4th round on 8 November 2006, partnering Michael Dawson in the heart of the Spurs defence.[1]
