Door picker

A door picker, colloquially known as a "door whore", is an employee of a nightclub whose job is to select which people in the queue will be allowed to enter the club.

Traditionally this job is performed by the bouncer, whose role is simply to exclude anyone improperly dressed or excessively drunk. However, more exclusive clubs (designated "ROAR", or Right of Admission Reserved) often have more stringent criteria, and will try to ensure a balance of people inside the club - for example, a comparable number of men and women. A door picker is employed to make this selection.
