is there any record of how many people who viewed the previous page, also viewed this one? and if not, is such a record possible to obtain? Nickjbor 07:18, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AARGH!
Ok, it was curiosity. :D —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.168.108.11 (talk) 09:11, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Oops, sorry, forgot to sign. And yeah, I agree with Nickjbor. I would like a record, something like a page counter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.168.108.11 (talk) 09:19, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- All I can say to this DISCUSSION PAGE is :))))))))))))))))))))))))). The page itself is rather educational (yeah, I'm talking about the one I'm commenting right now), cause it makes those who actually click because they believed it does what it said it does understand the main article a little better. In other news, I just did it for the lulz (when you see "Uh-huh" under the link, you gotta see what it was :P ) Trucizna 02:39, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

- The default Mediawiki behavior is for Page counters. Wikipedia must suppress that somehow. --209.221.206.206 (talk) 15:25, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

- I must confess that seeing the "/Uh-huh" link also made me have to click it. This is officially my favorite page on the Wikipedia now. 75.164.188.218 (talk) 07:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
I clicked on the link, but I didn't think it would crash Wikipedia. The person who added the link probably didn't want anybody to crash Wikipedia, and so if the link really crashed Wikipedia, the person wouldn't have put it in such a tempting place to click. [edit] Picture
You erased the picture? Dude, sense of humour. If you are worried about bandwidth.. I can suggest a diddy of some ascii art... -07:11, 29 December 2007 (UTC)~~ —Preceding incompletely signed comment added by 99.247.120.178 (talk) 07:11, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think the picture was cool. It needs to go back on there. -- ~ Ryan A. Taylor || screaming at me || DUMPING GROUND! 03:35, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- It was immature and in my opinion fairly tasteless. In case anyone hasn't noticed Wikipedia has a bit of an image problem. Somehow I don't think a picture that marks the deaths of thousands of people isn't exactly appropriate for screwing around. Besides, the picture actually distracts from the message you are trying to send. It goes from "oh we told you not to do something so you did. See how that works?" to either sending the message that the results of ignoring WP:BEANS will be amusing to them, or you just lost any credibility you had with them.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 05:59, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

- Perhaps it would be better to use Image:Castle Romeo.jpg or Image:Castle romeo2.jpg, both images of a test that did not harm humans? — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 18:50, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

If you really want to use a picture to illustrate your point, perhaps something that is just mildly unpleasant.--Oni Ookami AlfadorTalk|@ 06:01, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- I really don't see the unpleasantness in the picture. I can fully understand that the event was very unpleasant, but there's no real unpleasant things here I can see, except for seeing the cause of the event. -- ~ Ryan A. Taylor || screaming at me || DUMPING GROUND! 12:55, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I remind that we should keep in mind bandwidth and consider ascii art... 99.247.120.178 (talk) 21:57, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Do you have ASCII art of an explosion or some other cataclysm that could "crash Wikipedia"? — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 21:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think the picture was a nice touch and should be readded, as far as going with ASCII art soley because of preformance, that should not be a factor. I know there is an guideline or essay somewhere around here that deals with that. As far as it being a picture of the Nagasaki bomb, I don't really think anyone would take offense to that. Nuclear explosions are very much rooted in popular culture after the cold war. --Nn123645 (talk) 06:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- You make a very good point. -- ~ Ryan A. Taylor || screaming at me || DUMPING GROUND! 09:12, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I found the policy dealing with preformance. --Nn123645 (talk) 06:31, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

"UNRECOVERABLE DATABASE ERROR" or somesuch would be scarier. ;) æ² ✆ 2008‑05‑01t05:11z
- Heh, make them think they've actually broken Wikipedia :) Bronzey (talk) 11:14, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- In theory it would be nice, but in practice 2 of these things would happen:
- A. They'd freak out and never or rarely return to this site again
- B. Brag to their friends, LOL. --Trucizna (talk) 20:30, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
